Terms
What you are agreeing to when you join and upload.
V.2. These terms cover the SnapATK Card Creators DB at cards.snapatk.org
What this is
A public collection of card ideas made by the community. Anyone can read it. Members can submit cards, vote and take part in the discussions.
Art: The licence you grant
When you upload artwork you are claiming two things: that you made it or hold the rights to it, and that you are licensing it under CC BY-SA 4.0 — free for anyone to share and adapt, with credit, and anything built from it stays just as free.
Please notice: This cannot be taken back. Creative Commons licences are irrevocable. If you later delete your account on this site, your name comes off the card but the artwork and other contributions stays.
When you have the legal copyright for an artwork you are often allowed to release it under several/any additional licenses you want for whatever purpose while still keeping your origial copyright of the work. This means that you don't revoke your copyright - you simply add another license allowing the world to use it.
If you are at all unsure whether the rights are yours to a piece of art please DO NOT upload it! Artwork reported as someone else's is hidden immediately while a moderator looks at it, and a card that is Rejected has its artwork taken off the site at once and deleted from our disks within 30 days even if the copyright is yours.
Uploading is optional. A card submitted without a picture is given one of our own stand-ins — deliberately anonymous art, so the card reads as still waiting for its artwork. You are not licensing any art in that case; the stand-in art stays ours, under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 licence as the rest of the project's art. Anyone can replace it later from the card's own page, and doing so is an upload like any other, with the licence above.
AI-generated artwork
It is perfectly allowed to use AI generated art, but it has to be declared for copyright reasons: Use the proper checkbox when submitting the card. The generated work may not be a 1:1 copy of an actual human made work, nor may it be a close enough derivative (i.e. a human aritsts character in a different pose or in different outfit) or clearly connected to an "intellectual property" that already exists.
Your card - art, text and ideas
Card names, text and the “inspired by” note are licensed the same way. The point of this database is that the community can build on each other's ideas. Revising or swapping out any data you have contributed with, like for example but not limited only to your ideas, texts, stats, keywords, artwork is to be expected if and when your card is included in the official game. Other community members may also revise your ideas or build on them, regardless of the cards status in the official game. We believe this is a strength and feature of a community driven project.
Being a member
- You must be 16 or older.
- One account per person. Extra accounts made to vote more than once will be removed and their creator permabanned.
- Confirm your email within 48 hours, or the account is deleted and the address is freed — nothing is left lying around, and you can simply sign up again.
- Be civil and friendly in the discussion. Moderators can delete replies and close a discussion. We have zero tolerance for crazy or rude behaviour, racism, sexism, homophobia etc, and will directly permaban as we see fit without any warning.
What moderators can do
Set a card's status, endorse it, edit it (with a reason, which is recorded), hide it, and delete replies. Every one of those actions is written into the card's public history with who did it and when. Moderators cannot see who voted for what.
Withdrawing and deleting
You can withdraw your own card at any time, which takes it out of browsing. It is not deleted.
You can delete your account. See the privacy notice for exactly what that does.
The software
The code is AGPL-3.0-only. This is a free, volunteer-run project with no advertising and nothing to buy.
If these terms change
Every version is kept. What governs your contribution is the text that was on screen when you made it — a later revision cannot reach back and change the licence on artwork you already uploaded.
